Mount Kinabalu

This week, I’m gonna talk about Mountain Kinabalu. It located in a state of East Malaysia which is called Sabah.
Mount Kinabalu’s height is about 4096 meter, is the highest mountain in Malaysia.  Many tourists like to climb Mount Kinabalu when they travel in Kota Kinabalu (is the capital of Sabah). They climb the Mount Kinabalu for seeing the gigantic Rafflesia and orang utan (man ape). The name kina from Kinabalu means China, while balu means widow.  About its legend, there was a merchant who came from China came to Sabah and he met a beautiful local populace. Then, they were married and lived together. However, after that, the man decided went back to his country to visit his family but after he back to China, he never came back to Sabah. The girl stayed on the peak of Mount Kinabalu to wait for him coming back. Until she death, the man still never came back. So, futurity name this mountain as Mount Kinabalu. Another incident of Mount Kinabalu is the earthquake. Logically, this is impossible that earthquake will happen in Malaysia but it still happen once in 2015. Local populace said that the God which stays at this mountain was angry. This is because of the behavior of some tourists. Few days before the earthquake, there are 10 tourists who came from western country had stripped and urinated at this scared place. So, the god was angry and the earthquake happens.

It is 452m height and 88 floors including 5 ground floors. However, Taipei 101 is higher than KLCC. Inside KLCC, there is Suria Mall. There are so many tourists go shopping at the mall.
Besides, there is also Science Museum inside KLCC. It is very suitable for children visiting there. They can know and learn many things from Science Museum. There also have some interesting activities for the children having fun at Science Museum.

The bridge between the towers is Skybridge. It is at the 41th floor and 42th floor of the tower. We can see the view of Kuala Lumpur at there. I had been there once. I joined a trip that was hold by my secondary school before. I recommend you all can go to Skybridge at night, the scene will more beautiful.

Outside of KLCC there are water fountains. It is very beautiful and attractive. At night, the fountain will full of colours. It is really gorgeous. KLCC also features a wading pool for children having fun there. I think most of the foreign tourists will come there if they travel in Malaysia.

The most popular thing of Pulau Pinang is the street art in Georgetown. Georgetown is the downtown of Pulau Pinang. There are so many beautiful wall paintings in the city. In 2014, I had joined a trip to Pulau Pinang with my friends. In this trip, I had taken photo with 40 wall paintings. We found the wall paintings by walking around the Georgetown. That was a quite special experience for us. There are about 60 wall paintings in the city. But now, there are some artists will draw new wall painting at there. So, the number of wall paintings is still increasing.

Deepavali

Last two weeks, I had post about festival of Malay. So, this week, I’m gonna talk about Malaysian Indian’s festival which we call Deepavali.
Long time ago, there was an evil god. Its name is Narakasura. Narakasura liked to torture people who were at low hierarchy. Besides, Narakasura was greedy. When he came to a place which had many foods, he would finish all the foods and didn’t leave any food for villagers. No matter how many foods there had, he wouldn’t leave any foods. In order to save the villagers, there was another god fight with Narakasura. Narakasura was defeated in this war. The villagers were very happy and defined the day as Deepavali’s day.

When Malaysian Indians celebrate this festival, they will use colorful rice flour or powder to make kolam(a form of drawing) on the floor in front their home. My Indian friends told me that kolam will bring good luck and benediction to home. He says the god who had defeated the evil god will come to the homes which have make kolam in front their homes. They will leave the kolam eat by bird.
